The type of vacation we typically choose is luxury. For our activities, we like luxury and often stay at the finest hotels, but we are also adventurous and love off the beaten path types of experiences and always seek them out. We aren’t bothered by very “local” experiences anywhere and think these are very important to our vacation. We love adventure. We also like a mixture of regular, touristic and organized places. We enjoy hiking and outdoorsy activities. We enjoy museums, markets and other activities geared towards children. We like to maximize each day by seeing as much as possible.
Our children at the time of this itinerary: 5 children- Boy age 11, Girl age 11, Girl age 11, Girl age 7, & Boy age 4.

Description: Colonial Williamsburg will take you back in time, and it is a living museum where the past comes to life on a daily basis. Visitors can experience what it was like, and the struggles citizens of this historic place experienced during the Revolutionary War. There are a number of art museums, golf courses and shops, spas and hotels, and many other sights and attractions to enjoy in the general area. Learn about the history of the area and find out about the residents who lived here during the war.
Our Experience: Our visit to Colonial Williamsburg was great. Everyone enjoyed it and there was plenty to see and do. Some families can spend more than a single day here but we were fine with just three-quarters of a day at this location. Make sure that you pick out the areas and attractions that you want to see ahead of time so that you can make sure these are available and you do not miss out. If your family does not like history and recreated villages, or really dislikes touristy attractions then this is not for you.

Description: Bush Gardens is an amusement park known for family fun, thrilling rides, popular attractions, and plenty of excitement. There are rides and attractions created for each age group and level of thrills preferred. Smaller children have their own designated section, and older kids and adults will enjoy exploring the rest of the park.
Our Experiences: When we visited Busch Gardens the park was open late that day, and the kids had an incredible time. They were all tired when we left the park, and slept deeply that night. Everyone in our family really loved this park, it was very neat, clean, and orderly. If you have the time and the park is open when you visit this area then this is a great stop for all ages and most families.
