Months Visited: August
We like outdoor activities and getting close to nature, and we look for adventure and excitement on every trip. We also enjoy relaxing in comfort at times so we usually include a mix of different activity types on our trips. We want to spend every possible minute seeing and doing new things and do not want to waste any time or miss out on anything. Our children at the time of this itinerary: 3 children-Boy age 16 years, Boy age 11 years, Boy age 9 years.
Description: Horseback riding in Hawaii can be a terrific way to see the natural beauty of the land and enjoy the thrill of galloping across the beach on a horse. There are a number of stables which rent horses and offer guided tours, and there are usually horses available for all skill levels from beginner to experienced equestrian. This activity can be a lot of fun for almost all ages.
Our Experiences: We went horseback riding and saw some incredible sights, and the price that we paid was not bad. The stables had a range of horse sizes and temperaments to choose from. It is possible to use a guide when horseback riding in Hawaii but we did not do this, instead we decided to spend the time enjoying the surroundings and going with the flow. Our horses were well behaved and the ride was incredible. The kids were very excited and gave this stop their highest rating, they fell in love with the horses and really had fun on the ride.
Description: Anaehoomalu Bay is a rocky beach in the Kona district, and it is situated right behind one of the hotels but the beach can be accessed by anyone and is public. The water in the bay is very blue and incredibly clear, and there is an abundance of sea turtles that reside in these waters and they can often be seen swimming around. Eels can be found in a nearby creek and there is also a pond that has fish which jump. Make sure to pay attention to all of the posted signs on the beach in order to avoid any trouble.
Our Experiences: After we went horseback riding in Hawaii we stopped at Anaehoomalu Bay. This stop was very neat and interesting, and the kids had a blast. The beach is not as nice as some of the other ones we have visited, it was more rocky than sandy, but this was still a great stop. We were all excited to see the eels and the turtles, but make sure not to touch or disturb these animals in any way. The water is very pretty and there is a hiking trail close by. This stop is highly recommended, and there are rental companies on the beach for water sports. Shade is also easy to find here and this beach is a lot of fun even if it does get a little crowded at times.
