The official capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi has a slightly slower pace and greater emphasis on culture and history than the more modern Dubai. Abu Dhabi is a fantastic place to visit with children. The unique experiences of this day will delight the family and turn preconceived notions on their heads.
Please note that this is not an itinerary submitted by an actual family. This day was planned by one of our travel experts as a recommendation for a family of children with ages 7 through late teens, based on knowledge of the city. Factors such as time, cost and distance have been considered to make this a great day to get a sense of the city and keep the
children and teens interested and engaged.
A Special Note on Weather:
The joke in the UAE goes that there are two types of temperatures: The hot season and the very hot season. The most pleasant time of year to visit is in October- April, as their winter temperatures generally fluctuate between the low 60’s and low 80’s Fahrenheit. In the summer (June-September) temperatures can be extremely high well at be well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. It is not unheard of to see temperatures go all the way up to 120 or even 130 degrees, with high humidity. Please note this when planning your trip.

The tour spans a history of these majestic creatures as well as the modern techniques used to treat them. This functioning racetrack is a must for fans of Formula 1 racing or cars in general. They offer a tour of the pits, media areas and even a chance to walk the starting line and see racing from the ground up. For families looking to inject a little excitement into their day, kid-friendly go karting is available and a nice chance to blow off steam and have a great time. For a more “adult” experience they also offer driving and riding experiences in real, famous cars. Check their schedule to see if a race coincides with the time of your stay. This is either a good or a bad thing, as you may have the unique opportunity to take in an F1 race, however don’t expect to be getting a behind the scenes during one of these busy times.
