This 37-mile long national park is situated along the island’s north shore. Prince Edward National Park protects many broad sand beaches, sand dunes, freshwater wetlands and salt marshes. These protected beaches provide a nesting habitat for the endangered Piping Plover, a small shorebird. Greenwich, a peninsula that separates St. Peters Bay from the Gulf of St. Lawrence, became a part of the park to protect and preserve the resources found in this area. The Greenwich Interpretation Center features over 20 exhibits relating to the natural and cultural history of Greenwich. Cavendish Grove is a great place to relax, enjoy nature and have a picnic. Bikers and hikers will enjoy the spectacular views of the beaches, sand dunes, ponds and marshes on the 7 miles of hiking and biking trails.
