Aruba, a 19mile island in the southern Caribbean, is a magical place filled with an exciting mix of breathtaking beaches and exotic culture. The island has a unique personality with it’s tropical western exposure and a desert landscape to the East. One thing you’ll find everywhere you travel on Aruba is adventure & activities for all ages, excellent weather and friendly people who are warm and welcoming. The added beauty of the spending the holidays in the Caribbean will make family memories that are timeless.
Although we are presently empty-nesters we have traveled to many destinations throughout North America with our children when they were young. Our love of scuba-diving, skiing & aviation has also taken my family to many interesting, adventurous locales. Our family has been returning to Aruba for the last decade because it has the perfect combination of adventure & relaxation. We have selected a combination of special activities that will create unforgettable experiences filled with wonder and excitement for families.

Aruba is an island brimming with water sports and adventures, so much so that it’s sometimes hard to narrow down which activity you should choose based on time & budget. De Palm Island is an all-inclusive excursion that allows you to try many water-based sports, all in one place, all for one price. There are activities on the island for the whole family, from age 4-adult. These include a terrific Water Park open to all ages (some of the underwater sports have height & age requirements). The All-Inclusive price also includes unlimited meals, snacks, drinks, bar, equipment, lounge chairs, beach activities, salsa lessons & Water Park. Upgrades are offered for Snorkel, Sea Trek & other water sports. The ferry leaves every 15 minutes from the pier at De Palm Island Ferry Terminal off of Balashi Road.

Hours: 6:00PM to 9:00PM
Admission: Free/ $5.00 Bon Bini Festival (Every Tuesday 6:30PM-8:30PM @ L.G. Smith Blvd.)
By now you and the kids are pretty tired after the fun time you had at De Palm Island. If you’re not ready to turn in for the evening why not take a self-paced walking tour of Oranjestad, Aruba’s capital? Taking in some local history and architecture, especially the colorful Dutch structures at Daniel Leo Plein square, will add awe and truly round out their day. There are many wonderful restaurants in the area and great shopping too. If it’s Tuesday night, be sure to catch the Bon Bini Festival filled with fun, cultural food & dance for the admission of $5.00. The festival is held in the courtyard of Fort Zoutman, Aruba’s oldest building (built circa 1798). Other festival days in Aruba are December 5th (Saint Nicholas Day) and if you are visiting on December 27th there is a chance to enjoy Dande Festival events. If your vacation extends into January you will be able to see the start of Carnival.
