The 200-acre Nashville Zoo houses more than 6,000 amazing animals and 339 species.The indoor “Unseen New World” exhibit features several fish, reptiles, amphibians, insects and bats all native to the Americas. Watch enormous African elephants and giraffes roam around in the Elephant Savanna. Visitors of all ages will love petting the playful kangaroos at the Kangaroo Kickabout. Take a ride around the zoo on the Wilderness Express Train or spin around on the Wild Animal Carousel. Children will enjoy swinging and climbing like monkeys on the Jungle Gym, the largest community-built playground of its kind. Visitors can also tour the Grassmere Historic Home, an original 19th-century historic plantation house. The zoo has many dining options, including TN BBQ Depot, Zoofari Cafe, Snake Bites and several food stands. The whole family will have a wild time at this exciting zoo.

Explore Tennessee’s first and most visited State Natural Area. At Radnor Lake State Park, visitors can view several animals including migratory waterfowls, reptiles, amphibians and deer, along with an assortment of spectacular wildflowers, trees and shrubs. There are six exciting hiking trails winding through the woods, four of which circle Radnor Lake. If hiking isn’t for you, there are paved roads which are perfect for bicycling. Children will enjoy spotting river otters and beavers in the beautiful lake. Park rangers lead environmental programs ranging from wildflower hikes to reptile programs at various times during the week. Make sure to stop by the Visitor Center on your way in for a program schedule.

Step into the world of country music at the Country Music Hall of Fame. The museum’s main exhibit, Sing Me Back Home: A Journey Through Country Music, takes visitors back in time, displaying the history of country music, its origins, traditions and the stories and voices of of many of its honored architects. Through artifacts, photographs, and text panels with recorded sound, vintage video and interactive touchscreens, you will be immersed in this magnificent genre. The Recorded Sound Collection features the history of recorded sound, embracing nearly 200,000 sound recordings including approximately 98% of all pre-World War II country music recordings. Visitors with the Platinum Package will be guided through Historic RCA Studio B, Nashville’s oldest surviving recording studio, where landmark recordings by Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings, and several others were made. Separate tickets ($15 for adults, $10 for children) can be purchased to enter the Hatch Show Print, an iconic letterpress poster shop. This tour takes you through the history of letter-printing and teaches you how to handle the tools and ink to make your very own poster to take home with you.
