This day was planned by one of our travel experts as a recommendation for a family of children with ages 4 through late teens, based on knowledge of the city. Escape the bustle of the city and enjoy the great outdoors at Mount Royal Park. This park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, who also designed New York’s Central Park. There is plenty to see and do at Mount Royal Park any time of the year. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful sculpture garden, two belvederes and an interpretive center. The park is a great place to have a picnic, go for a jog and enjoy nature in warmer seasons. In the winter months, the park hosts a tubing and tobogganing run on one of the many ski slopes. There are also seven cross-country ski and snowshoe trails totaling 11 miles. Mount Royal Park hosts a popular activity called the “Tam Tam Jam” every summer, where hundreds of people play hand drums on the east slope of the mountain. The views from the top of the mountain are breathtaking, so remember to bring your camera.
