With over 40 permanent art pieces on 11 acres of land, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is one of the largest urban sculpture gardens in the country. It is one of the crown jewels of the city’s parks system. The centerpiece and most famous sculpture in the garden is Spoonbridge and Cherry. Visitors will enjoy admiring the spectacular works of art as well as the seasonal displays in the Cowles Conservatory and the Alene Grossman Memorial Arbor and Flower Garden. The conservatory features native, tropical and exotic plants, orchids and palms. The memorial garden is supported on a stainless steel structure that anchors beautiful groupings of unusual perennials and flowering vines.

Built in the early 1820s, Fort Snelling served the U.S. military for more than 120 years. Today, this National Historic Landmark is a great place to learn about military history from before the Civil War through WWII, fur trade history, slavery in Minnesota, the U.S. Dakota War of 1862 and much more. Park personnel are dressed in historically appropriate uniforms and are happy to answer any questions from visitors. There are live reenactments with soldiers, demonstrations and cannon firings throughout the day. There are also educational programs for children, including a scavenger hunt. Fort Snelling is an attraction filled with history while providing beautiful views of the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers.

With over 40 million visitors annually, The Mall of America is the most visited mall in the world. This is the second-largest shopping mall in the United States. With more than 530 stores, a wide variety of restaurants, an indoor theme park, an aquarium and several attractions, there is plenty for the whole family to enjoy. The Theatres movie theater has 14 theaters with 3D capabilities, D-Box motion seating and Starbar lounge. Children can become living dolls in the Barbie Dreamhouse, an interactive exhibit featuring a kitchen, living room, boutique and virtual elevators that transport guests from room to room. The Star Trek exhibition allows visitors to explore the worlds, science, cultures and characters of the Star Trek universe. Adults will have a good laugh at the House of Comedy, featuring some of the nation’s top touring comedians. There is certainly something for everyone at the Mall of America.
