Month Visited: March
We are a family that loves to travel to exciting new places, and we are fairly adventurous without taking a lot of risks. Sometimes we want to be pampered and stay in comfort, but we are willing to get out of our comfort zone at times if there is something we really want to see or do. We try to include educational stops along with fun activities, and we want to see famous places and historic locations wherever we go. Our children at the time of this itinerary: 2 children-Girl age 13 years, Girl age 11 years.

Description: Oompa Loompa Tea at the Chesterfield Hotel is an experience that every child, and adult, should have at least once. Who wouldn’t enjoy a scrumptious afternoon tea in an elegant setting? The Oompa Loompa tea service is designed to thrill and delight kids of all ages, and the adults will have a hard time not stuffing themselves as well.
Our Experiences: The Oompa Loompa Tea at the Chesterfield Hotel was a big hit with everyone, and this tea experience is perfect for the whole family. Adults can have tea while the kids enjoy a milkshake or other beverage choice. The tea stand was full of delectable goodies, including sweets, traditional finger sandwiches, and even a variety of scones with clotted cream. Each of us received a goodie bag of sweets for later as well. This was a highlight of our trip, and the kids enjoyed this tea just as much as the adults did.
Description: The Tower of London is a historical structure that was first constructed in 1078, and it was originally a castle. Over the centuries the Tower of London has been used for many purposes, and one of the most famous is the use of this palace as a prison. Through history many who fell into disfavor were imprisoned here, including a number of individuals with royal blood and high ranking titles. Today the Tower of London is where the Crown Jewels of England are stored when they are not in use, and visitors can see a number of the actual items in the Crown Jewels collection. These priceless pieces are under armed guard at all times, and certain items may not be available if they are in use by the Queen.
Our Experiences: We really liked touring the Tower of London and learning about the fascinating history of this attraction. We also saw the Crown Jewels, which the girls really enjoyed and will remember. These gem encrusted items were exquisite, with diamonds and other precious stones that were enormous and astonishing to look on. This stop was a favorite for everyone, and there was a lot to see, do, and learn here. We highly recommend the Tower of London to others.
