Description: Hiking in the Adirondacks near Lake Placid offers some of the most exquisite scenery found anywhere. Miles and miles of ancient trails cut through the area and there is something for everyone who loves nature and the great outdoors. No matter what season it is the hiking trails are always popular for kids, adults, and entire families who vacation here or visit the area for some other reason.
Our Experiences: Our entire family had a lot of fun on the hiking trails, and the kids really enjoyed a chance to explore and work off their natural energy. As parents we appreciated the fact that the kids were active and engaged, and the beauty of the area was fabulous. The trails are somewhat quiet but you can expect to come across others most of the time, and the weather was warmer. During the warmer months you may want to take insect repellent in order to make sure you are not bugged by these creatures. All in all our kids thought the hike was fantastic, and the adults also enjoyed it and recommend this activity to other families who are active.

Description: Bob sledding is an exciting sport that involves high speeds and a lot of excitement. The Olympic Village on Lake Placid offers a bob sledding experience that is very memorable, and it is even possible to take bob sledding lessons from an Olympic athlete. Many people who take part in the bob sledding experience can not wait to do it again, and you can experience what the Olympic athletes do as they rocket around the track.
Our Experiences: This experience was something special, and the kids will be sure to remember it for many years. The kids had bob sled lessons with an Olympic athlete and they could not stop talking about this activity. It is important to note that children must meet specific height and weight requirements for some of the bob sledding activities, and very young children may not find this activity fun but may instead end up scared or fearful due to the fast speeds. Our children would recommend the bob sledding lessons though and they had a lot of fun.
