Philosopher’s Walk is a relaxing trail winding along a river from the Ginkakuji Temple to the Nyakuoji Jinja Shrine. The beautiful stone path is lined with cherry trees and passes a number of temples and shrines. The walk only takes about 30 minutes to complete, however many people spend more time visiting the sights along the way. Restaurants, cafes and boutiques can also be found lining the path. Philosopher’s Walk is a favorite among visitors and locals alike, especially during Hanami, the period from the end of March to early May when the cherry blossoms bloom.
