Months Visited: August
We are a family that likes to spend our time with a wide range of activities, from top beaches to out of the way ruins and unusual cultures. We enjoy staying in comfort but we are willing to rough it in order to try new experiences and see new places. Adventure and excitement are mixed with fun and relaxation, along with educational stops as well. Our children at the time of this itinerary: 3 children-Boy age 16 years, Boy age 11 years, Boy age 9 years.
Description: An underwater submarine tour in Hawaii, in the waters off the Kona district, offers incredible views of the marine life and natural wonders that are found near the ocean floor. See fish in their natural habitats, and view coral reefs that are teeming with life. Watch vibrant schools of fish swim by, and possibly view many other marine species and underwater animals on this tour as well. This tour is the only way to see and experience what can be found under the water in Hawaii, and it is a one of a kind experience that will not be forgotten.
Our Experiences: Everyone was really excited to go on the underwater submarine tour, and the kids could not wait to see everything that the ocean hides. They were thrilled to climb into an actual submarine vehicle, and a little nervous as well. The tour offered us some spectacular views and unusual underwater landscapes, and it was a top spot on our trip. The kids could not stop talking about this tour and they can’t wait to do it again.
Description: Hapuna Beach is considered one of the best beaches in Hawaii, and this reputation is well earned. It is the largest out of all the white sand beaches that Hawaii offers and the water conditions are typically optimal for swimming and other water activities. There are a few hotels located near the beach and visitors will find amenities that include plenty of parking, restroom facilities, and even picnic tables. Showers are also available for those who need it. This is a must visit for anyone who comes to the Big Island of Hawaii.
Our Experiences: Hapuna Beach may not be as exciting as an underwater submarine tour in Hawaii but it was still a great stop for our family. The area was not too crowded when we arrived and the water was relatively calm. The white sand was incredibly soft and smooth, and the beach was clean. This is a large beach and the kids were glad to run and play in the sand. We went swimming and the water was clear and warm. We all had a good time and recommend this stop highly to other families who enjoy beaches.
