We enjoy a moderate level of luxury when we travel, but we will sacrifice some comfort and luxury if necessary to search out unusual or remote attractions. We try to fill each day with as many stops and activities as we can without having to rush or miss anything at each stop. We are an adventurous family that enjoys educational stops as well as fun attractions and scenic outdoor locations and features. Our children at the time of this itinerary: 2 children- Boy age 17 years, Girl age 13 years.

Description: Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon is a glacial lake and lagoon in Iceland, with a unique landscape and unusual features that can include icebergs floating in the water after these chunks of ice break off from the glacier. This lake is the deepest in all of Iceland and the views found here are spectacular. It is possible to take a boat out onto the water at times, but this may not always be possible due to large amounts of ice.
Our Experiences: Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon was an amazing stop, and the best on our trip. Seeing the icebergs actually floating free in the lagoon was incredible, and the glacier views were stunning. Even if you can not get onto the water here the shoreline vistas were just as beautiful. The glacier features and natural beauty that we found here were thrilling, and it must be seen to be believed. We recommend this stop to every other family, very few people would not be excited by a visit to Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon.
