Months Visited: August
Our family enjoys seeing new places, and we are active and like to spend time outside whenever possible. We like beaches and hikes as much as amusement parks and other touristy stops. Sometimes we want to stay in a luxury hotel and be pampered, but sometimes we are willing to sacrifice luxury and comfort in order to go off the beaten path and experience remote locations and new cultures. We do not waste time when we are on a trip, we try to see and do as much as we can and make every moment really count. Our children at the time of this itinerary: 3 children-Boy age 18 years, Boy age 13 years, Boy age 11 years.
Description: Chartering a sailing yacht can be a good way to explore the waters off Honolulu, or any of the other Hawaiian cities or islands. With a charter you determine where you want to go and what areas you want to see. Sailing, snorkeling, fishing, and enjoying views of marine life that can include turtles, dolphins, or even whales at times are all reasons why a charter can be a great opportunity.
Our Experiences: We had a great experience with the charter sailing yacht that we rented. This stop allowed us to go where we wanted, following the ocean and searching out of the way spots. We saw many tropical fish and we snorkeled in a few different spots. The ride on the water was exciting and the kids had a lot of fun throughout the trip. This is highly recommended by our family, but anyone who gets sea sick or has motion sickness may not enjoy the stop as much.
Description: Diamond Head Beach and Park is located in Honolulu, Hawaii, and this area has a lot to offer to anyone who comes here. There is a shower that is situated near the entrance, and plenty of parking spots can normally be found close by. This Hawaiian beach is rarely crowded and the water is usually calm when compared to some of the other beaches in the area. There are a number of spectacular homes situated along the beach, and this area is popular for surfing and kite surfers as well as those who want to swim or lay in the sand.
Our Experiences: We had a good time at Diamond Head Beach and it was not crowded at all. There were not many trees on the beach so it may get really hot during the middle of the day. But there was also a nice breeze off of the ocean. We spent a few hours here, and we saw some people surfing in the water. Close to the shore the water appeared calm but there can be a rip tide further out that swimmers and surfers should be careful of. This was a beautiful beach with just a few people compared to other beaches, and we recommend it for those who want a peaceful Hawaiian beach experience without crowds.
Description: An Elvis impersonator show in Hawaii can be a unique way to see a tribute to the King. Elvis spent time in Hawaii on a few of his films, and there are many very talented impersonators who offer a terrific performance.
Our Experiences: After a day spent on board a boat and in the ocean, and on the sand of one of the the best Hawaiian beaches, we were ready for something not so active. We decided to take in a Elvis impersonator show done Hawaiian style, and it was a nice treat. The performance was quite realistic and the entire show was well done. This is recommended, especially by the adults in the family. Small children who get bored easily may not find this stop as highly rated.
