Explore marine life around with world without leaving Cleveland. The Greater Cleveland Aquarium has 8 exhibition areas, a 500,000 gallon tank with a shark tunnel offering panoramic views and a variety of interactive activities for the whole family. The Ohio Lakes and Rivers exhibit features a handmade stream and fish native to Ohio. The Lakes and Rivers of the World gallery contains aquatic life from Australia, Asia, South America and Africa. Learn of the effects pollution has on our oceans in the Discovery Zone and watch moon jellyfish glow in the dark above you. The Indo-Pacific gallery displays fish from Eastern Asia, Indonesia, Fiji, Hawaii and the Red Sea. Children will enjoy petting stingrays in a 11,000 gallon touch pool in the Coastal gallery. The impressive Shark SeaTube is a 230,000 gallon tunnel tank that allows extraordinary viewing access to four species of sharks, moray eels, groupers, stingrays and more.

Since opening in 1912, the West Side Market is the oldest continuously operating market in Cleveland. The West Side Market offers an authentic and culturally diverse shopping experience. The Cleveland Museum of Natural History houses more than four million specimens, including more than 3,000 human skeletons and 30,000 plant fossils. The collection features specimens in the fields of archeology, astronomy, botany, geology, paleontology, zoology and more. Explore the past through fossils from Ohio and around the world. See the remains of a partial skeleton of a 3.2 million-year-old human ancestor, “Lucy,” at the Kirtland Hall of Prehistoric Life. There is plenty to see at the Museum’s Department of Vertebrate Paleontology, including a 16-foot-long armored fish wish monstrous jaws. The Living Collections are housed outside the building which features bald eagles, owls, foxes, coyotes, bobcats and other northeast Ohio animals. This fascinating museum is one you won’t want to miss when visiting Cleveland.
