How long is the security line? Do I have time to eat before my flight? Which restaurants are in the terminal? Is my flight on time? These are some of the questions airport goers have every time they travel.

Airplanes take us from A to B faster than any other form of travel. However, airports can be hectic and stressful, not the way anyone wants to start their vacation.

The GateGuru app takes the stress out of airport travel. This day-of travel assistant provides travelers with airport amenity information, security line wait times, airport tips, maps, and several other helpful services.

How it works:

When the app is opened, you will be directed to the home screen including a list of national and international airports. The most popular airports are shown, but you can type in any airport name or code in the search bar. When you choose an airport, you will be directed to the Airport Card, a screen providing information on that specific airport.

AirportCard

The top of the screen shows the airport code and the current weather. If you click on the temperature icon, you will see the weather forecast for the following week.

Click on the amenities icon to see all of the restaurants, shops and services at each terminal and gate. If you choose a restaurant or shop from the list, you will see ratings and reviews from travelers who visited that spot. You may also write your own review for others to see.

By clicking on the tips icon, you will be directed to a list of airport tips written by other travelers. These tips can include restaurant recommendations, security line advice, or which areas of the airport are smoking and non-smoking.

The maps icon shows you an illustrated map of the airport, including concourses, terminals, gates, parking, and baggage claim areas.

The flights icon shows all of the departing flights from that airport. This useful feature shows the flight’s terminal, gate, status, duration, and arrival time.

Car Rentals

On the bottom of the screen you will see an Avis icon. This is where you can book last-minute rental cars. Through their exclusive partnership with Avis, GateGuru allows you to reserve a rental car at the lowest available pricing, with discounts up to 35% compared with other leading travel sites.

JourneyCard

Along with the list of airports, the home screen also displays your current and future journeys. By clicking on the suitcase icon on the upper right corner of the home screen, you can add an upcoming trip. You can choose a flight by a flight number or by route. After your flight is chosen, you will see your upcoming journey. This is your JourneyCard, where you can view or access any information you may need on your day of travel. Your JourneyCard will keep you posted in real-time on any updates to your flight, such as security wait times, flight delays, gate changes or layover time adjustments.
